The existing space at 50 Franklin Street had previously operated as Craft Table & Bar before closing due to a flood. Working from a detailed concept brief provided by the incoming marketing team, the design task was to reimagine the space as Opulent — a NYC-inspired underground piano bar and lounge with a farm-to-table American menu. The concept called for jewel-toned interiors, refurbished gold fixtures, and a black baby grand piano as the spatial focal point.

A priority of the project was budget discipline. The existing black subway tile, bar structure, banquette seating, and pendant fixtures were all retained and incorporated into the new design. The bar shelving was stripped and restained in dark walnut, and the existing pendants were painted gold with bulb replacements to align with the new aesthetic. Furniture and fixture specifications were developed in coordination with hospitality vendors, with quotes sourced for commercial-grade seating, lighting, and tabletop selections to ensure specifications were both design-appropriate and procurement-ready.

The floor plan was reorganized to create five distinct zones: an entry sequence and host station, a bar, a central lounge anchored by the piano, a main dining room along the window wall, and a semi-private room with a wine feature wall and curtain enclosure.

The entry sequence was redesigned around a custom host stand clad in MDC wall covering, with new stair nosing and LVP flooring extending through the dining areas. Egress paths and occupancy limits were evaluated and maintained throughout, with furniture specifications selected to meet commercial hospitality standards. Design documents were produced in Revit and coordinated with a reflected ceiling plan showing floor and ceiling finish zones, lighting placement, and the cooler display integration along the bar. All interior views were rendered in Enscape directly from the Revit model.
